Late last year, whilst out walking in the local park with my fiancée, we came across a small starling roost at the edge of the wood. Just as we arrived the birds started their evening murmuration, where hundreds or even hundreds of thousands of birds congregate and create their own special fly past, chatting and dancing before settling down in the trees for the evening. It’s a timeless and extraordinary ritual and we have witnessed it dozens of times since.

In the past ten years I have started a number of blogs which I’ve always hosted on Blogger. But I’ve always intended to host my own site and combine all my writing, photography and other ideas in a single location. Inspired by the birds, I’m now taking the first steps towards achieving that goal, and the resulting site is Murmurations.

Murmurations is a showcase for my blogs, photographs and other random musings. The three main blogs subjects cover my three passions; my work as a management consultant; my enthusiasm for the Apple ecosystem; and my love affair with the city of Prague in the Czech Republic where I have lived off and on for much of the last five years. I write mostly for myself, but if people are inspired or helped by my jibber jabber it makes it even more worthwhile.
